Stamford Bridge is not falling down!

Chelsea FC is apparently in a fallout with itself as it still hopes to regain the Premiership Title after losing out to manchester united Fc last season. The events of the last two weeks are pointing to the Jose Mourinho who lost his job after a few dismal performances and a row with the owner.

However, the current events may not point to some row with the owner...but after two concurrent draws with Portsmouth Fc and Liverpool Fc, it migth be revealing the fact that Chelsea FC migth be losing out on the Premiership Title this season.

The only hope that they seem to have is that they would be hosting Arsenal FC and Manchester United later in the season.

So far in the season, Coach Avram Grant has really proved the critics wrong by ensuring some superlative performances especially as the Club is only 3 points behind Manchester United FC. Therefore, there is really hope that Chelsea would hold on and finish tops this season.

Can Arsenal FC Hold on To It?

Arsenal FC moved an amazing 8 points above Manchester United FC when they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 in a London Derby on Monday,11th Febuary, 2008. Manchester United Fc has really been sticking to its guns trying to outdo the Gunners but goals from Flamini and a superlative performance by the Gunners ensured that they have a hopeful glimpse of the Premiership Title.

Manchester United FC had earlier lost 1-2 to City Rivals, Manchester City on Sunday as new City striker Benjani Mwarirwawi was very superb against the Red-Devil Defence. A goal by Micheal Carrick could not save the situation as the Red-devils fell a further 8 points behind Arsenal FC.

This result means that the Gunners can make a difference this season if they stick to their guns and keep winning, especially against Chelsea Fc at Stamford Bridge.

Highlights From the Game

Thoughts on the game?

Post game coverage here.

A 2-2 draw is probably a fair result considering we did not play very well at all. We just didn't look sharp and I think Moor (despite his phenominal cross) and Corrales looked pretty bad in the back. Oh well.

I will try to have post-game videos up tomorrow and then the usual Yanks Abroad videos will resume this weekend. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the game?

There are some great videos through Studio 90 at US Soccer. Here is the link and you can just click on the picture for Pre-game special. There will be a live stream of pre-game coverage from US Soccer starting at 7:30 CST. which you can watch here.

If I find any other links of videos before the game, I will update this. I will do the same after the game and tomorrow if there is anything worthwhile available so check back.

tribalfootball.com - Man Utd's Ronaldo hits back at Platini

Manchester United wing ace Cristiano Ronaldo has hit back at UEFA president Michel Platini.

Platini said this week Ronaldo had to prove his worth in the latter stages of Euro 2008, because that is when all the best players will have the chance to be recognised on the same stage.
But Ronaldo, who turned 23 yesterday, is the Premier League's current top scorer with 19 goals and said his league form is proof enough of his ability.
'I have nothing to prove to anyone,' he said.
'A league is played over nine months and it is there where you can evaluate the great players. You cannot do it in short-term competition.'"

US v. Mexico - 2 Days Away

These videos should help us all get ready for Wednesday. I can't wait. Enjoy!

The Man Of the Match

It was a show-down at the Fratton Park when Portsmouth Fc hosted Chelsea Fc in a grueling encounter in the English Premierleague.

The New Portsmouth Player's lassana Diarra, Jermaine Defoe and Milan Baros really showed the stuff that they are made of as Lassana Diarra really uesd the free role to intimidate the Blues.

However, Chelsea drew first blood when Nicolas Anelka scored a superb goal in the 18-yard box.The Pompey Stars played better and it payed off when Jermaine Defoe had a shot at the Chelsea goal mouth

Former Chelsea Star,Lassana Diarra was the man of the match as his superb touches and control was really a thorn in the flesh of the Blues.

The Draw means that Chelsea has droped 6pionts behind the leaders , Arsenal Fc.

Clash Of The Titans

On the 16th of Febuary,2008....Arsenal FC will taking on Manchester United FC in a gruelling 5th Round encounter for a place in the Quarter-Final the English FA Cup.

Manchester United had to overcome a tight Tottenham Hotspur FC side in order to get a place in the 5th Round of the Competition. The Spurs scored first courtesy of an inspiration from Aaron Lennon in the first half.
However, an goals from Christiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in the second half gave the Red-Devils a 3-1 winner courtesy of some superlative performances by Anderson.

Also, the Gunners were able to beat Newcastle United 3-0 in order to proceed to the 5th Round of the FA Cup Competition. Goals from Togolese Star Emmanuel Adebayor gave the Gunners the inspiration to win the match despite enormous oppression from the Magpies in the First half as Kevin Keegan was hoping to improve Newcastle United's performance in the Competition.

The Draw means that Manchester United FC and Arsenal FC will be playing to consolidate their standings in England as there are about 14 games to the end of the English Premiership.
