*Jared Jeffrey (U-17s) got an offer from Club Brugge and would thus make his way to Europe after a trial there.

Can The Gunners Hold on?

Its more or less a do or die affair as Arsenal FC is really at the verge of going out of the Carling Cup...

Yes...on Wednesday,8th January, 2008 at the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal FC clashed with Tottenham Hotspurs...Arsenal was really tommented by Dimitar Berbatov as the Hotspurs scored first and kept hitting at the Gunners..

An Equalizer by Theo Walcott meant that there was gonna be a replay at White-Hart Lane....However can the Gunners really hold on and make it to the final?

However, Lucas Fabianski,Arsenal Fc's new goalie really gave a good account of himself..it would be nice to see him in the Replay at White-Hart Lane.

Yes....The Blues Can Make It!

During the week, the Carling Cuo Semi-Final really showed a lot of class and intrigue...However the goals came from rare sources when Chelsea FC met Everton FC in a thrilling encounter at Stamford Bridge...The game ended 2-1 in favour of the Blues...The goals came from Shawn-Wright Phillips who is rather known for his goal droughts and his shy performances in front of goal.

However, a Red-Card awarded to Mikel Obi gave the Toons the impetus to give the blues a run for their money.A goal from Yakubu Aiyegbeni caused the Blues to play with more caution..

A slight mis-calculation of the direction of the ball by Lescott in the dying miniutes of the game gave Shawn-Wright Phillips the much-needed goal in order to book a place in the final..

Therefore, all hail Shawn-Wright Phillips for the Blues.

Sissoko

Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko believes they can cope with his absence due to this month's African Nations Cup.
The Mali international told liverpoolfc.tv: "That's right.

"Chelsea will lose Mikel, Michael Essien and Didier Drogba, who are all important players for them.

"Then Portsmouth have four or five players who will be in Ghana, including Papa Bouba Diop, John Utaka and Kanu.

"It will probably be harder for these clubs to cope than here at Liverpool, where I am the only African player."

The FA Cup..is it predictable?

This Weekend in English Football....The 3rd Round of the FA Cup will be appealing to soccer lovers around the world with the following fixtures,

ASTON VILLA VS MANCHESTER UNITED FC AT THE VILLA PARK
CHELSEA FC VS QUEENS PARK RANGERS FC

The FA Cup competition has really been an interesting competition with Chelsea FC being the latest winners under Jose Mourinho. This year's competition promises to be nice as it still in its early stages.

Who will win the Carling cup?

The Build up to the Carling Cup Final will come next week when Arsenal FC faces Tottenham Hotspurs in the Carling Cup Semifinal and Everton FC faces Chelsea FC in another encounter.

Arsenal FC faces Tottenham FC on Wednesday 8th January while Chelsea Fc faces Everton 9th January..

The Blues will be looking forward to defending the Carling Cup but will have to do that without the input of their key African Stars who are away for the African Nations Cup..

Arsenal FC will be hoping to win the Carling Cup as their first Trophy after two years but might face London Rivals Chelsea FC again in the final….

Therefore, its going to be very exciting as Chelsea Gaffer Avram Grant will be looking to win his first trophy at Stamford Bridge and Arsene Wenger of Arsenal will be hoping to end the two year Trophy drought.

Most-Wanted!

Cecs Fabregas and Alesander Hleb are being wanted by Real Madrid and Barcelona. The two gunners have been very impressive this season for the North London Club…

Actually, Barcelona is counting on the fact that Fabregas had played for it some time ago…Therefore with Real Madrid also in the race for him, it is really going to be an uphill task for Arsenal FC to keep him.

Another HOTCAKE!

A host of Premiership rivals are following Dean Ashton's situation at West Ham United.

The Daily Star says Ashton could leave West Ham with Manchester City, Tottenham, Newcastle, Portsmouth and even Chelsea possibly interested.

Dean Ashton has been very impressive this season pulling off great performances against Manchester United FC and other teams….he will continue to be very impressive this season.

The Blues Link.....can it Work?

West Ham United and Tottenham have made offers for Juventus midfielder Tiago.
Corriere dello Sport says both Spurs and the Hammers have tabled bids for the ex-Chelsea man this week.

Juve coach Claudio Ranieri is today discussing Tiago's future with sports director Alessio Secco.

Can This Red-Devil turn Blue

Birmingham City are stepping up their bid for Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

Brum boss Alex McLeish is seeking a permanent deal for his fellow Scot.

Can The Blues make it up?

Chelsea FC really needs to brace up for the remaining half of the season as they are preparing to face City Rivals Queens Park Rangers FC in the FA Cup this weekend and Everton FC in the Carling Cup Semi-Final next-week. The Blues really need to keep their tempo as they are really facing a lot of injury problems ranging from Peter Cech, Cudicini, Frank Lampard and Shevchenko.

This problem has been made was by the departure of about six African Stars to the CAF AFRICAN NATIONS CUP. Moreover, Avram Grant has openly showed his displeasure by asking the African players to “go to hell”.. The Blues are currently 3rd on the table after the win away at Fulham on New-Year’s Day.

Do You Want This Red-devil to Go?

Manchester United have slapped a £75 million price-tag on Real Madrid target Cristiano Ronaldo.

A leading agent told the Daily Express: "A few days ago, as the transfer window opened, Real Madrid made it plain they would pay 60m euros (£44.3m), but Manchester United's response was emphatic.

"They told Real not to come back with anything less than 100m euros (£73.9m) - and even then there is no guarantee that they would take it."
Whether the initial 'offer' and the reply came from agents rather than directly from the clubs is debatable. But there is no doubt Real want Ronaldo - badly enough to break the record fee.

The wealthiest club in the world may balk at more than £70m for Ronaldo, but it is certain they are ready to offer in excess of £50m for the Portuguese wonder boy, as their first approach is merely an opening gambit.
