Ruud's golden goal

Real Madrid CF forward Ruud van Nistelrooy holds his own place in UEFA Champions League history. The 12 goals he scored for Manchester United FC in 2002/03 remain the record for most goals in a single campaign and he is one of only five players to have struck four times in a match in the élite tournament. Indeed, his 57 goals in the European Champion Clubs' Cup leave Van Nistelrooy only one short of the competition's all-time leading scorer, Raúl González, and five off Gerd Müller's mark in all UEFA club competitions. The 31-year-old spoke about his goals and his desire to win the UEFA Champions League with uefa.com.
