RODIGUEZ GOAL TAKES LIVERPOOL FC OUT OF RELEGATION WATERS

A late goal from Maxi Rodriguez has lifted Liverpool FC...
out of the relegation zone in the English football league table and gave Roy Hodgson’s men their first away in the 2010/2011 english football season when the Reds travelled to the REEBOK STADIUM for a match fixture against Bolton Wanderers FC.

However, Liverpool FC missed a lot of chances as Bolton also showed that they could get a point from the REDS. Fernando Torres failed to score as he held on to the ball for too long and Yohan Elmander’s shot went wide of the goal posts.

Jamie Carragher appeared to have handled the ball but the Referee thought otherwise and had brought down Kevin Davis inside the 18-yard box. The Kops also lost mid-fielder Joe Cole to a hamstring injury.

The game looked finished until the final minutes of the game when Rodriguez got the ball from Fernando Torres’s back-heel, ran into the Bolton 18-yard box and kicked a shot that could not be stopped by the Bolton Goal-keeper.

Roy Hodgson stated that he is happy with the character of his players’ during the match. The win has taken the pressure off his shoulders and has given Mr. John Henry hope the his investment in the Merseyside club will pay off.
