The Sports of 2nd Asian Beach Games 2010 : Beach Sepaktakraw

BEACH SEPAKTAKRAW

Native to Southeast Asia, the sport combines elements of volleyball, soccer and gymnastics and is often called “kick volleyball”. Using a rattan synthetic ball, players use their feet, head and chest to land the ball into the opponents’ court.

Thailand’s men’s and women’s teams both took home gold in Bali 2008, whereas the People’s Republic of China was victorious in the women’s regu event.

Sanctioned by the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) and the Asian Sepaktakraw Federation (ASTAF) beach kabaddi will welcome both men’s and womens’ team and regu competitions.
