ANCELOTTI'S AIM

Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated that his aim at Stamford Bridge is to win the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE trophy. The Italian had won the trophy twice as a player and twice as a coach at AC Milan. The UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE title is the one trophy that is still eluding the Blues.

Captain John Terry recently stated that he wished that the FA CUP that Chelsea won under Dutch man Guus Hiddink was the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE trophy. It can be recalled that John Terry’s miss against Manchester United at Moscow last year had cost the BLUES the opportunity to be Champions of Europe.

The Blues had reached the Semi-Finals of Europe’s elite club football competition after an outstanding game against Liverpool FC which ended in a 8-5 aggregate score but were knocked out by Barcelona FC in the Semi-Final by an outstanding strike by Andrea Iniesta.

John Terry believes that new coach Ancelotti is going to build on the foundation that has been laid by Guus Hiddink who brought the club back into limelight after the disastrous outing by Luis Felipe Scolari.
