ROY HODGSON
Roy Hodgson was born on 9 August 1947.He is an English football manager and former player, who is currently the manager of Fulham.
Hodgson is probably best known for guiding the Swiss national team to the 1994 World Cup and Euro 1996; before that Switzerland had not qualified for a major tournament since the 1960s. He has also coached many notable club sides, including Viking FK, Malmö FF, Internazionale, Blackburn Rovers, Grasshoppers, F.C. Copenhagen and Udinese. He was appointed to his current role at Fulham in December 2007.
Hodgson has served several times as a member of UEFA's technical study group at the European Championships, and he was also a member of the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) at the 2006 World Cup. Hodgson has also worked as a television pundit in several of the countries in which he has coached and is multilingual. As a player, he has played at Crystal Palace, Tonbridge, Gravesend&Northfleet and Maidstone United.
He has a lot of coaching experience having previously managed Halmstads BK(1976-1980),Bristol City(1982), Orebro SK(1983-85),Malmo FF(1985-1990),Switzerland National Team(1992-95), Inter-Milan FC(1995-97), Finland National Team(2006-2007), Blackburn FC(1997-98)., FC.Copenhagen(2000-2001), Grasshoppers FC(1999-2000), Viking FC(2004-2005)., Udinese FC(2001), United Arab Emirates(2002-2004),Fulham FC(2007-).,etc.
He is most remembered for his contribution to Swedish Football where he successfully led Halmstads BK to the league championship in 1976 and 1979 as the club was seen as a potential relegation club in 1975. Also, he was highly successful at Malmo FF where he won five consecutive league championships, two Swedish Championships and two Swedish Cups.
