Most recently, the Games received a boost by Muscat 2010 Beach Crew Member – Omani racing driver Ahmad Al Harthy who displayed the Muscat 2010 logo on his car during the recent World Travel Market (WTM) held in London earlier this month.
With the personal motto of “Achieve the Highest Results” Al Harthy was pleased to represent the Games during the 4-day exhibition: "I am so proud to have been able to promote the Games in the UK, having the car at the WTM was such a great opportunity to exhibit it to the world".
Al Harthy, who achieved fourth place in the Pro-Am 1 class of the 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship, joined forces with Muscat 2010 as a sport ambassador in October 2010.
MABGOC Director General Eng. Habib Macki congratulated Ahmad on his season and thanked him for his support of Muscat 2010 through branding the car with the Games logo.
“I would like to sincerely thank Ahmad for his support of Muscat 2010 by showcasing the Asian Beach Games during his time in London, and for taking his role as a Muscat 2010 Beach Crew member seriously. It is because of Ahmad’s dedication, focus and sportsmanship that he was chosen to represent Oman’s hosting of the 2nd Asian Beach Games, and we are proud to congratulate him on his success this season. Ahmad truly embodies the concept of the Beach Crew – the sporting heroes of Oman – by giving the youth of Asia a superior role model,” said Macki.
The Omani racer added, “My role in promoting the Games in the UK has been very exciting, and we hope to announce shortly other interesting events planned in Oman”
