All is not well at the concrete bunker on 161st Street (AKA, The New Yankee Stadium). The guy you never thought you'd feel sorry for, Brian Cashman, is suddenly an object of sympathy.After publicly criticizing the Steinbrenner Siblings for their silly overpayment of set-up guy Rafael Soriano, Cashman appears to be setting up a firewall of protection in the media. He says he doesn't want to just be the "director of spending", but a real GM—you know, kind of like Theo and Billy Beane. Poor baby. Actually, forget about that sympathy stuff.
