Aravinda de Silva the selection committee announced 15 man squad for the 2011 World Cup.
Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Chaminda Vaas who represented Sri Lanka in 1996 World Cup only Muttiah Muralitharan was picked in the 15 man squad.
Sanath and Vaas were left out of Sri Lanka's final selection. Kumar Sangakkara will lead the side with Mahela Jayawardene as his deputy.
