Christiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Real Madrid FC has been widely accepted by many quarters as coming at the right time.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter who had initially criticized Manchester United over Christiano Ronaldo acknowledged that Ronaldo was worth the GBP 80 million that Real Madrid FC paid for his services.
Manchester United FC had signed the Portuguese international from Sporting Lisbon FC and Ronaldo had performed well. He won the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE in 2007/2008 season with the Red Devils, the Carling Cup,3 English Premiership Titles in 2006/2007,2007/2008 and 2008/2009 Seasons.
Christiano Ronaldo had wanted to leave last year but could not because of a clause that guaranteed that he played for one season at Old-Trafford after which he will be allowed to leave.
Christiano Ronaldo joins the likes of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Gabriel Heinze and David Beckham who left Manchester United FC to join Real Madrid FC. He signed a six-year contract which is worth GBP 9.5 million at the first year and will increase to over GBP 29 million.
