Inter Milan and Juventus took a point each from the Derby d'Italia at the San Siro tonight with a goalless draw.
Both sides clearly wanted to win the game and chances were aplenty, but the goals column remained empty, despite the two sides' efforts.
The point lifts Inter back into second place while Juve move up to seventh, still just three points behind the Nerazzurri.
Milos Krasic was Juve's match-winner with a hat-trick against Cagliari last weekend and he was their most productive outlet again tonight.
In the 22nd minute, he cut in from the right and shot towards the far corner, forcing Julio Cesar to make a diving save which almost fell for Vincenzo Iaquinta two yards out.
Krasic did find Iaquinta in the very same position just in front of the goal 10 minutes later, but the Juve striker had just strayed offside and his simple tap-in did not count.
Diego Milito had Inter's best chance of the first half, but he was unable to divert the ball inside the post as he met Samuel Eto'o's long cross on the stretch at the far post.
Krasic took matters into his own hands on the hour mark, dribbling past four Inter players before testing Julio Cesar with a fizzing shot from the edge of the area.
Minutes later, Inter almost took the lead when Maicon leapt to meet Wesley Sneijder's free-kick and Marco Storari needed two attempts before finally clutching the ball as Lucio came in sniffing for the loose ball on the goal line.
Fabio Quagliarella failed to take Juve's best chance of the game after 69 minutes when he was sent through with only Julio Cesar to beat.
The Juve striker could probably feel Lucio making up ground as he seemed to rush his shot, which was straight at the Inter goalkeeper.
Milito then wasted Inter's best chance in the 78th minute.
He earned top marks for the way in which he took Esteban Cambiasso's sweeping ball down inside the penalty area, but he then placed his shot wide of the far post with only Storari to beat.
It was a goal that the Argentinian would have scored in his sleep last season, but the miss was symptomatic of his erratic form this term.
And it was a costly miss as Inter were held to a goalless draw by their arch-rivals.
